It’s time to get a new king mattress for my Solitude 310 GK. What do you recommend?

If you use the search function on the forum (top right), you'll find this has been asked and answered many times. The consensus seems to be if you have a mattress in the house you like, buy another one and put it in the RV.

Only issue I have with that consensus is that our house mattress is about 12 or 14” deep and extremely heavy.

We tried a 12" Zinus mattress and it about killed my wife's back and her hand when she hit the ceiling.

We just ordered a C4 9" Sleep Number mattress.

Just got a new 310, with the crap RV king sized mattress. Got it home and pulled it out still wrapped in the plastic. Ordered a Wilderness RV king (72x80) fits perfect, very pleased with the comfort. It is heavy, about 125#. Comes in a box, so you can drag it up to the platform before you cut the plastic off it and it expands in place, Hopefully I never have to move it. More importantly, the wife is happy…

We have a Tuft & Needle foam mattress that's 12" thick and pretty heavy in our RV. I just replaced the bed struts to hold the extra weight.

The Solitudes have quite a bit more overhead clearance in the bed slide than do the Reflections.

The one thing I'd recommend is to measure your dimensions. A standard king is 76"X80". I put in an RV King that measured 72"X80" and it's a tight fit on the width; there is no way I would have wanted the 4 extra inches.

My new mattress is 10" and weighs ~75 pounds. Had to upgrade the struts on the bed lift to enable the bed lift to stay in the "up" position without holding it.

We have a sleep number C4 short queen in the RV. We got it to fit a few campers ago and just move it to the new one when we traded. It works great for us, we also have sleep number in the house. Yes, they are expensive, I figure we spend about 1/3 of our lives in bed, we might as well be as comfortable as possible while we are there.

Question, did you have to make sure the platform was 60" wide? Our platform is 54" wide. We are good on the length at 80". Thanks!
