    Although mine is an RV king, i definitely have a few inches that overhang over the platform. My factory mattress did the same; I measured the factory mattress and matched that.

    Not an issue on the memory foam I put in.

    I'm more concerned about the Sleep Number Bed since it uses the air chambers. Any other mattress, it probably doesn't matter.

    Our platform is 60 inches, I don’t think the 6 inches would be a big problem, if it compresses the mattress a bit you just put in the proper amount of air for the firmness you want.
