    Batteries discharging quickly

    Hi there:
I usually camp with utilities in my 380TH. This week I am in Cheyenne WY for the Frontier Days Rodeo. I did not have reservations so am in an overflow area dry camping. I noticed the batteries ( I have two group 27 batteries) went low very quickly with nothing running except the big 17 cubic feet refrigerator. It says it uses. 2.8 amps in 12volt dc mode. Has anyone run into this problem. 2.8 amps seems like a lot of draw or perhaps I have an electrical short somewhere. Any ideas?

    Thanks
    Mr. Bill

Run the frig on propane when dry camping always. Go to AB camping on College and eat some of the ribs that Mark makes for dinner. Great rodeos last year. Enjoy!

The fridge can only run on either shore power or propane. The 12V part is only the control circuits and 2 or 3 amps sounds about right. It would take a long time to drain two group 27 batteries at 3 amps. You must have other significant draws. Lots of non-LED lights ? I'm assuming that you don't have an inverter ??

Thanks Rob: No regular lights being used all LED. I started pulling fuses, one at a time to look for anything unusual. When I pulled the fuel system fuse, instead of a bright light indicating a blown or missing fuse, I got a very dim light. I put the fuse back and checked the fuel system. The pump worked fine, but neither guage was working although I know I have fuel in both tanks. Maybe that is the problem?
