My old coffee pot that makes the best coffee ever!

I almost posted this in the thread https://www.mygrandrv.com/forum/show...432#post454432 to point out that you can make coffee on the stove, but thought it might be too much of a derail.

I have an old aluminum percolator. It’s scraped, scratched and dented. Smoke stained from camp fires and camp stoves.

It has more miles on it than most cars in the junkyard.

It’s brewed coffee in duck blinds, deer camp, fly-in fishing camps, in the middle of the woods at 2am on a turkey hunting trip, on a creek bank and river bank catfishing, car camping with the kids, during power outages and in our RV when camping with limited or no shore power. It’s boiled water for hot chocolate when the kids were young.

Dang near every cup of coffee it’s made has been great! It may help that I’m almost always cold, wet or enjoying a good time with friends and family when I use it. It’s one of my possessions I hope one of my kids hangs onto when I’m gone.

I hear you. We bought one about 25 years ago that we still use. Works great!

My most favorite stovetop pot, never boils over and makes 14 cups. For ele it's an old made in USA farberware 12 cupper, always huunting them down at garage and estate sales. I like having a spare in the trailer and a spare in the house

Old appliances seem to last and do great jobs. Our GE waffle maker was wedding gift 53 years ago and still works great.

Couldn't agree more. Had a crockpot for for the last 15 years that still works great.

Isn't it the truth. I had two - both from my -great-grandparent's summer cabin which dates back to the early 1900s. No idea how old they were but brought them on every scouting camp out and they never failed. Donated to my troop but I regret not keeping one of them - best coffee ever. Sadly I'm in electric K-cup mode.....

I don't think any of the drip coffee makers (even electric) failed my parents - we used them until 2000 or so. Best coffee still - no flavors needed to smell that aroma in the morning - no alarm clock needed.
