Also, I premix a gallon and keep it ready so when we dump, all tanks get about a third poured in them and off we go. I then remix a new batch when we've stopped so I have it at the ready for the next dump. Everything we need for dumping is stored in a hard sided Coleman cooler mounted on the bumper including the gallon of mix. And yes, I've drilled drain holes in the bottom of the cooler. Still on the lookout for a poop sticker to put on it.
Just a quick note on Pine-Sol. It is deadly to pets. We threw all of ours away at home.

I've used the Pinesol/Calgon method for two seasons now. Works great, but then so did the Dawn method. I changed more for the simplicity and the explanation of what the Borax does.

No pets in the camper, and unless they're going down the toilet or sink drain, they would be safe. We treat all household chemicals as if we still had children in the house.

Just was stating what I read. Residue and vapors are bad for them also. Our dog loves licking everything, floors, feet, etc.

Nope, worked in a Powdered Metal factory (which included many additives to the Iron powder). His job was working on Forgers which (after being compacted and Sintered) were then run through a hot forge at about 2100 - 2200 degrees to produce Connecting Rods for GM, Honda, Ford and Toyota.

We have had a similar problem. Someone told us that when we pour the dishwater quickly down the drain, it siphons out the pipe or something and we get the smell. They told us to pour the water slowly. Since we started doing that, we have not had the smell again. Recently, We started putting Happy Camper in the gray tank too just in case. We always wipe food off the dishes with a paper towel before washing them to keep food particles out of the sink drain.

I'm use the Geo Method and when I researched it years ago, I don't recall any mention of Pine Sol. As I recall the Geo Method calls for three ingredients: Calgon Water Softener and Laundry Soap or dish soap and bleach (I omit bleach). I don't think I would ever put Pine Sol in my black tank.

    Just my 2 cents.

This is what my Wife does. The food particles can stink over time.
