A/C unit very close to roof question

The rear of my main A/C unit is maybe 1/8” above the roof membrane. Worried it may rub. My rig is about 18 months old and I torqued the A/C hold down bolts one time last Spring.

Should I consider replacing the gasket some time soon? What is involved in doing this job yourself?

    Thanks

Could you put a strip of Eternabond tape on the roof so any rubbing happens to the tape rather than the roof membrane?

The gaskets are pretty soft and compress even more over time. I don't think replacing the gasket would make much difference. Have you pushed down fairly hard on the back of the AC to see if it will make contact with your weight on it? If it doesn't, I doubt it will make contact traveling down the road.

I got up there today and pushed. It is sturdy and did not contact the roof. I’m going to leave it for now but will put some eternally bonded tape on at the first sign of rubbing. Thanks for the input. Love the forum.
