Record low Diesel inventory - any problems with supply yet?

I've been following this for a few weeks now: https://www.zerohedge.com/energy/wha...t-whack-primer

Is anyone seeing any shortages, particularly in the East, or just continued high prices?

We're scheduled to head to Florida for Thanksgiving - about 800 miles each way, so around 5 tanks of fuel. I can live with the prices, but shortages is what really has me worried when we're on the road.

Is anyone else modifying or waiting on travel plans?

    Thanks!

So far this is just news hype. No real shortage I can tell.

We just got back last week from a trip from Aberdeen, MD, to Aiken, SC/Augusta, GA, and back (with just the truck for a move). We took the Shenandoah Valley route to avoid I-95. No fuel shortages or issues anywhere along the route nor at either end.

Could be a scare tactic before the long weekend. Another excuse to raise prices.

I think it's real and if anything the news about fuel shortage situation is currently being suppressed because of the election. Once the election is over it will probably become a real national crisis.

I was thinking the same, so telling my family we'll make final decision later next week.
FWIW, I've seen some people mention this issue came up last year also but much ado about nothing (other than insane prices).

I remember people talking about the shortage earlier this year, never saw any. If you are worried, I would stick to truck stops, as I would think they would be the priority if there is any shortages.

Here is something I found earlier this week re: diesel fuel shortage. FWIW

    STUART VARNEY:
For companies that do not have a large storage tank on site, and instead rely on fueling off location, the fleet could be out of commission of the fuel supplier runs out of fuel.
Mansfield said companies can reduce the risk of being out of commission by issuing emergency fleet cards that give access to fuel in a trackable way or consider installing a small tank for emergency fuel.

"Retail consumers shouldn’t expect to see widespread fuel stations with bags over the pumps," the company said. "It may happen on a rare occasion (and when it does, you’ll be sure to hear it in the news), but in general retail stations will find supply and stay running. Higher prices will simply get passed on to consumers."

Here is a recent story in Tennessee news. Sounds like at the very least diesel prices will be going up along with some shortages.

Corporations, farmers and such impacted by higher fuel prices will just pass along the increase in it product price. Consumers that use diesel will see the impact to their wallet.

Several factors as to why there's a shortage or low supply if you like.
