Still blowing and raining in Bradenton, will be for a few more hours. Best guess is winds around 25 mph sustained and 50 plus gusts. Nothing compared to wind and rain and surge the east coast had gotten.

Good day to sit inside and watch the Great Oaks sway in the wind. It's amazing how flexable they are compared to the oaks in the north. Kind of remind me of how the Cottonwoods sway.
Maybe I'll get ambitious and bake some cookies.

We are fine! Around 4am we had some pretty good gusts of winds but nothing major. Wasn't as bad as the news made it out to be.

We had the center of it pass just north of us. My weather station just turned over to 6in of rain and it is still falling pretty good. It has been breezy with gusts but nothing to get excited about.

It was a pretty exciting night in Titusville. Fortunately no damage to our home. Lots of neighbors lost some shingles & ridge vents. In our resort most homes did ok. RVs did ok. Damage done to sheds, and RV ports and some power out. Still windy but the storm is gone.

We got lucky - dodged another one.

The beaches from Melbourn north to Flagler beach took a beating. Houses in the water; sea walls down, beached gone along with dune up to 50 yards from the ocean - bad scene. A1A washed out (again) in some places N of Daytona.

First of all, I am glad everyone is OK.
    BUUUUUUUUUUT, I have to ask!
Why if you know there is a potentially miserable destructable storm comming, why wouldn't you hook up and leave for a day or three to safe ground, then return. Just seems like a lot of unnecessarry concern. Besides, if if there was extensive damage, you then need to deal with insurance, replacement, if full time a place to stay etc.
Please to all, stay safe and sound.

We were not in any serious danger being on the Gulf side, predictions were pretty accurate for where we are. Did the necessary tasks we always take when facing 50 mph wind gusts and nothing was damaged. We have had worse winds with a typical pop up thunderstorm. Now if we had been closer to the landfall area and on a barrier island we would of hitched and moved for a few days.

Not to many places to run when the storm is 400 miles wide though

Usually in South East or South West Florida evacuation is only one way, North. Then you have to deal with traffic with everyone going the same way going 15 mph on highway and lack of fuel. Worst case you get stuck in the storm’s path out of fuel

Having lived in South Florida for 50+ years we’ve only evacuated once and that was for Hurricane Andrew. Andrew went east to west through South Florida and moving 300 miles North got us out of the track. Other than that time we would have had to move 1000+ miles to avoid the Hurricane since they have a tendency to affect all of the State.

Prior to owning RVs we owned airplanes. They are a lot easier to move out of the way. Now with RVs we carry insurance and do the best to protect it.

    okie dokie,
Pleae forgive, was not by any means tyring to imply any ignorance, just not understand the stay.
We too have been in 58 mph gust, as recently as a few weeks ago, just east of Williams, as yours, intermittent, but without incident.
Thanks for the reply, info, etc.
