Just curious about this particular solar panel.
As the title says, I am wondering what, exactly, makes this 100 W solar panel worth $530: https://store.lci1.com/furrion-100w-...larpanelbutton. Not product bashing, but honestly curious if the Furrion solar panel is worth so much more than the ones I I've seen for less than $200 around the web. This isn't product slamming, but I don't know enough about solar panels to know if this is pretty reasonable, or way out of line.

It's a $200 panel + $330 in royalties. Lol I honestly don't think that there's anything special with it.

Thank you. Like I said I'm not particularly knowledgeable about solar panels, but that just looked to be so much higher, I thought I surely must be missing something.

What you are seeing is the MSRP of the panel. The manufacturer probably sells it for 50 cents (or less) per watt to the reseller. The reseller marks up the price at least 100% if not more. This is so they can "discount" it to show you want a great deal they are giving you.
99.9999999% of the time, it's all marketing BS hype. That's why I've always recommended shopping around. Make sure you are buying monochrystaline panels and try to get ones that have the in panel wires on the back of the panel (more efficient vs wires on the front of the panel). Look at the warranty as well.
That is the absolute basics I recommend when pricing out panels.Mark & Mary. Full-timing across the USA (and Canada)!

Thank you for more information on this stuff. I was just kind of confused as to the huge price difference for the same wattage range. More data is usually better.

Solar panels made for rv's are very overpriced. I chose to go with one because of the form factor, but residential panels are much cheaper per watt than the rv ones. The used panels are even cheaper than that and have had good performance results. One of the main used resellers is San Tan...here is the link:

A lot of these manufacturers seem to be new. Do you really think they will be here in 20+ years like the warranty implies?
The short term warranty may matter but I think the long term warranty is just hype. Either I won't be around, the panels will not be around, or the company won't be around.

I have the factory Jaboni 300 watt panel. It lists for 700.00ish I have added a lot more panels that were cheaper. The Jaboni panel IS obviously more robust in construction than the others... And it's not even close. I do not think it is worth what they list them for, but it is hands down a stronger panel
