Slide in 2022 2500 Imagine
As reported in an earlier post , the slide in our Imagine 2500 broke in mid August. The Swintech slide assembly had to be replaced after the plastic spur gears got chewed up. These gears were replaced with the proper metal gears. It took 6 weeks from start to finish.
A big part of the delay was diagnosis / ordering and 10 days shipping to Alberta Canada. While we’re pleased that the unit was fixed quickly after the parts arrived, we would like to see Grand Design and the dealers shorten the parts delivery time . I can’t imagine being on a long road trip and having to leave your unit in for a lengthy slide repair while waiting for the parts. We just bought an extended warranty after this repair in case we experience similar issues down the road.

It may be better tp purchase additional motors to have on hand too. That way you dont wait on ordering, parts, and/or shipping - just installment.

I believe all of the Reflection Schwintek motors are 300:1 but how do you determine the exact model number of the motor without having to pull it out? There apparently have been a couple of versions of this part, and after calling Lippert last year, they couldn't give me a specific part number.

From what I have read, they have 2 motors
300:1 for the aluminum shaft
500:1 for the steel shaft
Don't mix them up, found out the hard way when Lippert shipped a new slide mechanism with aluminum shafts and 500:1 motors

I believe you can tell which motor you have by looking at the controller. Heck out this video for all things Schwintek.

And this is exactly why we got a new trailer. We had Schwintek motors go on our last 2 5 th wheels. One motor had even been screwed into place so was a real b*&tch to remove.
Now, if it doesn’t have gear driven slides, I won’t buy!

There is a youtube video from the RV repairman, which indicates the color of the plastic cap on the top of the motor will tell you which one you have. I believe the black cap is 300:1, while the white cap is 500:1. The guy has some great videos on how to replace and trouble-shoot the motors and he shows you both motors.
