Propane Fire Pit - Worth It?

I'm thinking of getting a propane fire portable pit.

For those of you with one, is it worth it?

And is a 20 lb tank needed or will a 10 lb tank be OK? I don't want to be tethered to my RV so I can use it even when not camping.

    Thanks.

We use one. Finding fire wood or bringing it with you got to be a job. We bought a small set of ceramic logs off Amazon, it helps it look like a real fire pit. It depends on how much you use it and if you use it wide open. We use a 20 lbs tank in about 3 nights, it just how you use it.

We bought an Outland Firebowl. Love it. One 20 lbs tank lasts about 3 nights, depending on how long you run it each night.

Agree with others. We have an older Fire Dancer and it lasts several nights. We turn it down to use less propane but still get some ambiance. It can last a week that way. It's great to have one when there are fire bans, but nothing beats a real fire IMHO.

We have one too. Use it where a real fire is banned. Also have used it under a large ez up when it was raining. The ceramic logs can be extremely real looking. To add that final bit of realism, add a small piece of hardwood. Nothing huge, a permanent marker size piece will give just enough smoke to mask the propane smell.

We have the Suburban Voyager. Love it. Nice flame, plenty of heat, reasonably light, legs fold and cover locks on for transport.

Propane Fire Pit - Worth It?

We have this one and love it.

As others stated, use it under the ez up in the rain, when no fires are allowed and when it is easier than using fire wood (when we want something simple)

My daughter gifted us an Outland fire bowl and we love it. I was skeptical at first since camping and a "real" fire had almost been synonymous. But now I'm a believer. We got a long hose that hooks up to the quick connect so no tank to manage. I must say it makes it so much easier when one doesn't need to deal with firewood.

The only thing I miss about a real for is the wood smoke smell.

I was lamenting to my wife and she said, "I think Glade makes a wood smoke spray." (Jokingly of course.) It is now my mission to find this hen's tooth of a product! [emoji1787]

I suggest you get a smoker. That way you can enjoy some smoked pulled pork around your smokeless fire pit. LOL win win in my book.
