Am I getting this battery thing right?

Still studying batteries. Here is a simple one. Self heating battery or not? If I do not plan to camp in cold areas there would be no need for a self heating battery. Like if I camp in an area and it happens to drop below freezing at night still no need for a self heating battery.

That being said, the battery should have a decent BMS in it. One that will shut down when it is too cold or too hot.

Also, if mounting in the RV or the pass through is heated, there definitely would be no need for a heated battery.

I think I got that right.

As with all things RV you first need to figure out needs. Off grid to me is that I forgot to plug in shore power for a few hours. So my needs are different than others.

And don't forget, you can still discharge the battery or use it below 32°, but you wouldn't be able to recharge it if it's still below 32°. If I remember correctly, discharge temperatures are around zero degrees....maybe slightly lower, depending on what the manufacturer says.

Since we're way off topic...How Bout those Cowboys!

All kidding aside I think we answered the OP's battery question. Now for the charger go ahead and get a Victron Multiplus II and be done with it.
