    Optronic tail lights

I believe these are either the 100 or 111 series, which are classified as grommet style. The question is how do I open these? There are 4 places where I can insert a screw driver, but I can't seem to get the leverage to open (Of course the weather has changed and the temps have dropped). The plastic is cold and stiff. I need to open up the fixture because I will be adding extra vertical LED light bars on the back.

Why not just tap into the wiring that goes to the tail/brake lights? Is there a reason you want to open these up?

Yep, tha'ts what I want to do. Tap into the existing wires! Dirty buggers concealed the wires in the housing and wall. That's not a stock photo, that's my set-up.

I'm going to ask a question, probably a stupid one, but just wanting to make sure that you have thoroughly examined for wiring under the trailer that you could tap into. I know your signature says a Reflection, so it's probably different than my Momentum TH, but the wiring for mine was easily accessable from under the trailer at the rear. I also added the vertical lights on each side of the trailer at the back, and the wiring had to run up through the channel that contains the rear ramp door hardware and springs and such.

I had to replace one of my lights also. The answer is yes, the light just prys out of the reflector surround. I used 2 small flat heads and just worked it out. It will just snap out. I know it's scary but you can do it!

The outside ring [appears orange in your picture] is a separate piece and if you remove that, you should be able to get to your tail light.
