    blood sugar levels.

For those of you who are diabetic -- I have found three natural things that help lower blood sugar levels. Cinnamin (which is hard to digest), pickled okra (large bottle at Sam's Club, small bottle at Wally World), and almonds. I take 2 pods of the okra each night until they do not seem to work anymore and then I lay off for a few nights, they seem to start working again. About tree handfuls of almonds works for me. Of course, exercise helps to burn sugar too. Anyone found anything else?

I don’t have sugar issues but I was going to end up with problems. I was overweight and needed to make a change
I have adapted a one meal a day lifestyle and it has helped greatly. Lost 50 pounds and feel much better
Fasting whether intermittent or longer can help with diabetes and many other issues
As humans we eat and snack way too often
    YMMV

    Thanks Dick,

New about the Okra, didn’t know about the Cinnamon. I was diagnosed as Type II Diabetic back in 2017 and totally control it through diet and exercise. Went from 8.4 A1c to a current of 5.9.

Make sure you read labels of everything carefully, literally everything processed has added sugar, even things you wouldn’t expect.

I limit anything I purchase to 3 grams of sugar max.

Some foods that you can eat with confidence and are actually “Super” foods

    1. Pomegranates, high in antioxidants and help to reduce bad cholesterol. Eating this has not spiked my blood sugar levels at all. If you are taking medication, visit your doc because they can interfere.

    2. Apples, high in fiber, flavonoids and antioxidants. I eat lots of apples.

    3. Lots of veggies like carrots, broccoli, celery, squash and zucchini.

    4. No bread or carbs like pasta, bread, cheese and the like.

    5. Lots of cardio

Between 2017 and today I have lost nearly 85 pounds, 325 and now down to about 240 ish.

    Good Luck!

    It was actually quite easy
Just don’t eat until 5 ish and only eat that one meal
Lots of fat and meat. Limit carbs. Delicious meals and large quantities
The irony is that constant eating and snacking is what makes people hungry
Every time we eat something our bodies create insulin and most of us are insulin resistant which turns it into fat
Humans were never meant to eat 3-4 times a day

I believe I'll take all that with a grain, or two, of salt. Who says humans were never meant to eat 3-4 times a day? That sounds like something you'd read on "Facebook Diet Help".

The benefits of fasting have been well known long before Facebook

As an insulin dependent diabetic I find eating 5 small meals a day is what works best for me to keep my sugar at a reasonable level. To not eat a meal is a sure way to have a hypoglycemic episode, and to eat too much at once will raise the sugar to unsafe levels.

That meshes totally with my understanding of the subject also. One large meal isn't recommended anywhere I'm familiar with.
