2600RB Simple Mod - Pantry Slide Out Cabinet Drawers

One of the modifications we made to our 2600RB paid off really well was adding two pull out shelfs for the pantry. Now that we are back from a two-month trip, I have a third shelf ordered. Direction say that 15-1/4" clearance is needed, these was not the case, as you can see, it fits perfectly.

To clear the front edge, 1/4" square pieces of plywood was used.

The ability to pull out the entire shelf and actually get to items is well awesome.

Something I've given some thought about doing, but never got there. How did you attach the rails so they didn't work loose in the fiber board shelf? And did you install lighting or is it lit so you could show us the install?

Once the small plywood is attached to the rail, I used glue and long staple to hold them in place. Once the glue dries the two will act like a single thick piece of plywood and would splinter before it just separates.

These are simple battery powered push button lights. These never gave trouble and because they did work quite well and was very useful, a more permanent solution would defiantly be worthwhile doing.

My wife wanted to add another slider since this posting, so I have added another slider to the left top shelves, the other side will not have one to allows paper towel and other tall objects.

Note: I used 1/4" plywood, but two pieces glued together to get to 1/2" for spacing not just one. I had the 1/4" so that is what I used.

Thank you for posting the detail you did on this. From it I had everything needed to install once our new camper was home to us from storage. I have done both lower portions currently. Will camp and see how we make use of the the rest of the pantry before adding another.
