    Clear coat on new rig??

We are in Tucson currently looking at a 2022 245 RL and they said they put the ceramic coating on for us but it looks absolutely awful. They're smear marks and everything in the dealer is saying that the ceramic coating brought out imperfections since grand design does not clear coat, they're transcend models. Does anybody know if this is true or not?

The clear coat was brought up to us when we were a negotiating the purchase and nothing was said about being on aluminum or not. We researched reviews on clear coating and decided that almost 60 years of age there ain't no dang way I could do it so they gave us a really good discounted price. Now we're believing we see why lol p

You can absolutely clear coat aluminum, question is why. First time I have ever heard that. I would walk away. Ceramic coating wouldn’t bring out those kinds of imperfections.

I'm willing to bet the 'imperfections' are the result of improper application. I would walk away because you will be looking at that finish for years.

    Fight this dealer.

The aluminum that GD uses already has a protective coating on it. That is why it feels "textured".

Anything you see, runs, drips, etc, is due to the application of whatever they used.

I'll be honest, the walkway is not easy considering this exact unit we're looking at has every little nuance that we always wanted in a rig and truthfully we're getting it for a really good deal about 2 to $3,000 less than what we're seeing around the country, so that makes it hard to walk away because it's a finish issue. The interior looks amazing. It's got everything that we were wanting down to every little pinpoint so getting the good deal on the rig to have exactly what we wanted. The inside makes it difficult just to walk away because of a bad wax job? 🤷

Well then good luck and happy camping. If you are happy with the deal that is all that matters
