    New 2022 F-450 King Ranch

After a 10 month wait the F-450 I ordered last March finally arrived. I’ve been towing our 337RLS Reflection with a F-350 SRW until now. I was maxed out in payload with the 350.

I was able to order the 450 using X-Plan with price protection. When it arrived my cost was $8500 UNDER MSRP where 450s are going for $10k over MSRP if you find one on a dealership lot.

Even better, I had ordered a F350 Platinum December 2021 and it arrived December 2022. It was also ordered X-Plan with price protection. I traded in my 2020 F350 Lariat on it and they gave me price I paid for it 2 years earlier as trade in value. I bought the 2022 f350 Platinum for $9000 UNDER MSRP and 3 weeks later I traded it in on the 450. They gave me $4,500 more than I paid for it on trade. Musical trucks the last month.

Sometimes the stars align right. I can’t wait to tow the 337 with it.

Here are some pictures of the F-450 King Ranch. It’s a monster.

Looks great! Glad the musical trucks worked out for you. Have you towed the 337 yet with it? If your truck just arrived, I'm guessing you still need to put the 500 - 1000 miles on it before towing as recommended by Ford.

It’s been a whirlwind with cars and trucks last 2 months. In addition to the 350/450 senecio I traded our 2020 Nissan Leaf EV for a 2023 Leaf. Then the Tesla I ordered came in so I sold the 23 leaf back to the dealer and bought the Tesla.

I’ve also had musical 350s. Had a 2017, a 2019, a 2020 and a 2022, which I traded in on the 450. The 450 is my 65th new vehicle since 1970. I also have another 450 on order a year ago that Ford rolled to a 2023. That should arrive this summer. That was ordered 4% BELOW invoice and Ford offered a $5k rebate for not producing it as a 2022.

I haven’t towed with the 450 yet. I still need to put miles on it and decide on bedliner and Tonneau cover. I had a bedrug and Bakflip F1 on the 350s that I originally bought for the 2017 and moved to all the three 350s. They won’t fit the long bed 450 so I’m looking.

Jerry I have the Bed Rug Impact bed mat in mine and really like it. I also have the Retrax Pro rolling cover that you can lock in any position. Makes for a nice clean bed.

    Rob,

Timing worked out well but there was no risk because the 3 trucks I ordered about a year ago were, no deposit and no commitment. The 3 dealers all would be happy for me to walk away from the deal so they could get a truck for lot inventory.

In fact when I ordered the truck I picked up 2 days ago the dealer gave me $150 just to place the order. The deal was you can keep the money even if you don’t take the truck when it comes in. They were ecstatic to get my 3 week old and 366 odometer mile 2022 F-350 Platinum on trade for their lot.

There still is very limited Newer Super Duty inventory in Florida which makes it a seller’s market. I feel bad for someone who needs a truck right now for business. They will pay a premium for it.

Right now Ford stopped order taking for Super Duty King Ranches, Platinums and Limiteds. Those of us who were able to get orders in before stop order taking will still will not see the trucks until this summer. My 2023 order is no deposit, no commitment and while it’s not price protected it is 4% below finial invoice.

If your 2023 comes in be careful as your 2022 probably has better options as they dropped a few for the 2023 run due to supply shortage, so compare carefully.

Looks good. I will never not have Line-X in a truck bed again. Stuff is great. I ordered my 23 without the spray in liner because of all the problems they had with supply in 22 (it's done by a 3rd party) and I think the factory spray in is thinner and it concerns me over the long term.

The 23 Lariat has a ton of the stuff that was on the value package as standard, but it looks like there's stuff like adaptive steering that isn't an option.
