We spent a night at the Big Texan RV Ranch last summer. Aside from the cheesy name, it was actually a good spot. We were towards the back, away from the interstate. Spot was gravel, but was wide with good shade. They have plenty of grassy space and two fenced areas for dogs. It's on the east side of town, which gets you away from the city a little. Was good since we were traveling eastbound.

If you end up making it further east than Amarillo but not as far as OK City, Wanderlust RV park in Weatherford, OK was a great full hook up CG we stayed at on the way home from the ABQ Balloon Fiesta.
    Great info Thanks!

    Great tips Thanks!

You can also export to your GPS. I have to do some editing in excel to get everything we want fitted onto single landscape pages, we don't use everything it exports like GPS coordinates. We also like the iPhone RV Life app which is a GPS app and you get access to your Trip Wizard saved trips. It will also keep track of your trips estimated fuel and camping expenses.

Now Trip Wizard doesn't always know about every fuel station (Buc-ee's, Roadrunner fuel stations for example) or campground or any Harvest Host / Boondocking sites, but you can always enter a specific address into RV Trip Wizard. We also use other apps like RV Parky, Allstays and Harvest Hosts for example to get the specific address, and then type it into RV Trip Wizard and it plots the route for us.
    Good info Thanks!

I guess I should also mention Overnite campground, just east of Amarillo.

We stayed over for one of the worst nights ever at that place. Some fellow came back to his camper and someone was in it and threatened him with a gun, the cops came and there was a shootout, then the camper burned with the burglar still in it and there were a couple of hundred rounds that cooked off. The owner had warned the firemen so they held back until the shrapnel stopped flying before they put it out. All this about 15 feet from our site. We were lucky to have no damage.

Amarillo KOA is an option . . . on the east side of Amarillo near the airport.

We stayed at Oasis RV Park, Amarillo this past summer. New place, lots of room and, if I recall correctly, mostly pull throughs. It's west of Amarillo, right off the freeway, but not close enough for a lot of noise. And real convenient to Cadillac Ranch (just down the road).
