Is it safe to raise the front of the trailer with the slide out?
I have a 29 ft 2500 RL with one slide room. I need to raise the front of the trailer pretty high to hitch my wdh. Is it safe to do that while the slide is out?

Arriving at your campsite.....level the trailer then deploy the slides or slides.
Leaving the campsite.....close the slide or slides, then do your hooking up.2016 F350 CrewCab Dually

I agree with others, not sure if it's unsafe but I wouldn't chance it.

When we picked up our 303RLS in the fall of 2020, the 'tech' doing the pdi with us said to unhitch, deploy the slides, then level. Because if you level out, then deploy the slides it could become unlevel because of the weight shifting.
I don't do that, I do the same as you...but there's lots of 'dealer official' opinions out there.2018 Dodge 3500 6.7 Cummins SRW w/Aisin

It's more about when we're getting ready to leave home for a trip. I like to hitch up the night before but we're not quite done packing so I want to leave the slide out. After hitching we won't be level and I'm not sure how safe it is to put it in and out like that either.

I received one of those dealer opinions also with a slight nuance - primarily because we'll be stopping at some Harvest Host locations and I hadn't planned to unhitch. Stabilize front jacks while hitched and deploy slides - don't want to do that either. Manual is pretty clear - level before moving slides.

I have done it several times when on "water only" campsites that are high in the front. I have to raise the front of the trailer to get the stuff to flow into the wagon when dumping. I raise the rear stabilizers, raise the tongue jack enough the get the outlet above the wagon then dump. I don't bother moving the slides.
I can't say "it is safe", but I have seen it done many times.2019 2970RL
