Some automatic transmission cars can be towed four-down, but a special kit has to be installed on the transmission for cooling. I don't know about the steering. Most tow'eds have a baseplate installed that the towbar connects to. A braking system and lighting setups are also part of the picture.

Oh, that I can see but those are a rare creature now. I do have my Fiat but I could hang that from the ladder.

My ranger that I towed did not have a locking steering wheel. If you do have a locking wheel you will need to put the keys in and turn it one click to disengage the lock.

Yes, like hen's teeth. Most high end sports cars are manual, but I wouldn't want to tow something THAT expensive behind my rig.

Some Jeeps also come with a manual transmission and, depending on the Jeep, are approved fto be flat towed.
