    Beach Camping with 5th wheel

So, looking for a place I can tow the 5er out on the beach and camp for a couple nights. Preferably looking for North or South Carolina. I found a place in Texas, but being in New England, I am trying to find something within a days driving.

You'll probably find differing opinions, but I would never pull my fifth wheel onto a beach. Getting stuck aside, the long-term damage done by the salt environment is not something I would want to subject it to.

The only thing I would add to what @Second Chance stated, is this: unless you have a 4x4 and sand tires on it (which you can't use for towing), there is a very high probablilty that you will get stuck in the sand, especially with that much weight; even when it is water compacted. I got stuck in sand in the New Mexico high desert. I stopped trying to dig myself into a hole with the tires and ended up getting another camper with his truck to help SLOWLY pull the rig out of the sand I had gotten stuck in.

Mind you that this was NOT with a fifth wheel, it was with a very light weight (5,000 GVWR) towable and a 4x4 F150.

We camped at a campground that was at back off the beach but still just as sandy. We never had such a hard time leveling and likely will never do that again unless somehow they can compact the ground to eliminate constant sinking and shifting. Using boards did not help at all

There is a campground on Cape Cod where you can park on the beach. However, I'm pretty sure they don't allow fifth wheels.

Haven't stayed there, but there's a beach CG in the Myrtle Beach area.

We do it for 3 weeks every summer. Fantastic way to camp. Big window in the back 20' from the water. As others have mentioned...be sand aware.

Check out the beach side campgrounds around Myrtle Beach, SC. While the campgrounds are not "on the beach" per se, they are as close as you might want to get.

There might be something "on a beach" in NC, SC, GA or FL but most are across a road or behind sand dunes.

Beverly Beach is a place in FL that is about as close as I'd like to get. You can also check out places in Destine, FL or Pensacola, FL (Ft Pickens SP).

For us, beach camping is a no-no. Too much salt spray and resulting corrosion.

Best camp spot I've had yet in my young camping "career"

I used the shop blower to blow out sand daily, and I power washed every nook and cranny on the entire rig when I got home. Immediately.
