    295RL tow vehicle

Just gotta ask what everyone is using to haul their 295RL's

    I've got a 2017 chevy 1500 doublecab 4x4 with 5.3v8 and 3:42 rear.

The 295 will likely put around 2,000 lbs. on the pin when loaded (it's not about towing capacity - it's about payload). What is the payload capacity of your truck after you load your family, gear and hitch? Here are links to some reading and tools for you:

    You are unbelievably wayyy overloaded

My 2018 Sierra has a 5.3 with the 3.42 but it is a base work truck. Only has cruise and power windows which greatly increases available payload. Mine is just under 1800 lbs
I would never consider towing that trailer with my truck

    Good luck

I know I will be over payload, just asking what everyone else is using
It doesn't matter what everyone else is using - they will do what they want to do and that's not a justification for overloading your truck. Assuming you will always tow empty and dry is a recipe for disaster.

Agreed. But the unscrupulous dealer is the biggest problem

Sorry but you asked a question on a forum. I am quite sure the overwhelming majority on here would have a 3/4 ton plus for that size trailer
But have you weighed your setup?
The “at some point” imo is all the time. My truck has a 4000 lb axle as well where yours has a 3600 likely
I would guarantee you are over payload, rear axle and gvwr.
Just be aware and drive accordingly
    Happy camping

Yes mine is 3600lb Axle, but we are also not full time RV life, weekenders 90% of the time and only about 10 time a year or so. So for pulling it for 20 hours or so a year I figured mine will be fine for that

I tow ours with a 2021 F250 XLT, Crew 6.2, 4.30 (not an FX4). Very happy with this arrangement. Using Pullrite Superglide 20k. Pulled all across Canada last year. No problem.
