    Bed rail clearance? 323bhs and 2013 f350

    Greetings

We are considering a 323BHS. Tow vehicle is 2013 f350 diesel crew cab short bed single rear wheel with factory 20" wheels and fx4 package. I tried to measure rail height, but my driveway isn't level. Getting 57" on one side and 59" on the other. Both at tailgate. So figure 58" +/-

Wondering if anyone is having leveling issues with similar trucks? I don't have a hitch yet, but am considering a pull rite superglide

I also have a trac Rac sliding ladder rack in the truck. It adds about 2" to the rail height. = 60". I'd rather not have to remove the rails to tow the rv

We are going back to the dealer this weekend, I'll bring my tape measure, but would love to hear other's experience. Thx in advance

    Welcome to the Forum!

We don't have the same camper but I'd expect that they're the same as far as pin height. Our F250 RWD is 54 inches at the tailgate and I have 8" of clearance over the bed rails. I recall that the overhang is 61 1/2" high on level ground. I know we have others towing 337 or 323 with F350 and haven't heard of an issue with bed rail clearance, though they're reported a bed rail height of 57" on theirs...not sure why yours would be 3" higher. With that height plus the extra 2" for the ladder rack, I don't think you'd fit under most 5vers on have them level with 6" of clearance.

    Dave

EDIT: Perhaps I need to read your post! You're talking 60" with the ladder rack which I think makes it a no go unless you don't mind towing nose high a few inches.

I have the same truck with the 16k PullRite Superglide. The hitch is basically fool proof in that you don't need to get out of the truck to pull levers to move the hitch rearward when backing or making tight maneuvers. Pull Rite says you need 6" of clearance above the bed rails. With 6" clearance my trailer rides slightly high in the front. I have a 27RL which is much lighter than the model you are considering so you may not have the level issue.

My 323BHS is 700 lbs. heavier on the right side vs. the left side. Appliances, pantries and tv with their cabins are heavy.

I'm using a B&W Patriot 16K hitch, and it does just great on my 2wd F250 diesel. You can get the larger Companion hitch in a slider, and they're very adjustable up and down, back and forth.

I don't tow much or far, so my non-slider will do fine.

I've got a 2010 F350 with the factory 20s / FX4 / SRW / etc -- just like your truck but without that awesome 6.7 PowerStroke! Also have a 20k SuperGlide hitch. I'm picking up my Momentum 350M on Tuesday and have also been very curious about bed rail clearance. I'll be sure to post pics once I pick it up -- hopefully that'll help.
