What you've stated would only apply if you fully loaded your rig to the 15000 GVWR, which you should never do. For pin weight, google the trailer year and model, find the sales manual online and it will tell you the pin weight. Add some weight for gear you expect to have up front, in your truck, including stuff you throw in the truck bed, fuel, you, the family and the dogs and you should have a good ballpark figure of what your kingpin weight will be. Depending on your F350 model, shortbed, longbed, diesel, etc. you can google that year model and it will tell you your approx. cargo wt rating for your truck and or the dry weight off the line. Then weigh your truck, subtract it from the rating and you'll know how much cargo room you actually have..

i have an F350 long bed diesel that I had built with the 12,400 lb rating. My truck weighs just shy of 8400 lbs so I have a 4,000 lbs of cargo wt rating for my Momentum 376th which has a stated pin wt of 3250 (plus some gear in the front basement). Even if I had 500 lbs more (which I don't) I'd still have plenty of wiggle room.

FYI I have a 2020 310GK that had a pin weight of 2,222 lbs when it left the factory. Fully loaded for 5 nights of dry camping we scaled the trailer at about 14,980 lbs (our model has the same 15K GVWR0. And with how we were packed our pin weight was 3,120.

Our rig weighed so close to GVRW because I had the fresh water tank full and we have lots and lots of stuff loaded. I like having a lot of “just in case” tools, gear, clothing, cooking stuff, etc. We don’t have a washer and dryer and our generator is a Honda EU2000i carried in the front basement.

With the long bed F350 you would do well with the Andersen. We love ours and have over 15K towing miles with it. The two main disadvantages of it (IMO) are we need the Andersen buckets under the landing gear so we can get enough height to lift off the ball. And we’ve found most RV service locations want the kingpin adapter removed if you are leaving the rig - they don’t want to damage it with their ball on a forklift they use (we’ve had ours damaged).

    Best regards,
    Chris

We’ve been using a 37# Andersen Ultimate Aluminum 5th wheel hitch to save weight. Add 2 people (400lbs) tonneau cover plus 50#s of dogs, and other stuff and we were right at max payload. It towed fine but stopping was a concern. I had disc brakes installed on the RV and it made a huge difference.

I recently upgraded to a new F450 so payload is no longer an issue. I haven’t towed with it yet because I’m putting some miles on it first. Today I finished installing a tonneau cover,, a bedrug bedliner and the Andersen hitch so it’s ready to tow.
How much over MSRP did you purchase your F-450 for?

I ordered it with X-Plan in March of 2022. It arrived January 12th, 2023.

X-Plan is price protected and runs about 5-6% BELOW MSRP.

By the time it was delivered I bought it for $8,374.72 UNDER MSRP.

Original MSRP was $89,360 and after all the price increases the final MSRP Was $93,360. I got it for $84,985 Plus a $100 dealer fee and tags.

Let me add, I also had ordered a 2022 F-350 Platinum with X-Plan in December 2021 (Original MSRP $82,255 X-Plan price of $77,804) and it arrived December 2022 with a FINAL MSRP of $87,485. I traded my 2020 F-350 Lariat in on it for the same price I paid for it 2 years prior. I bought the 2022 F-350 Platinum for $9,680 BELOW Final Invoice Plus I had a $2,000 Private Cash offer that I used on that purchase.

3 weeks after picking up the '22 Platinum 350 the King Ranch 450 arrived and I traded the '22 350 in on the 450 for $4,500 MORE than I paid for it. It was a good few months.

I have another F-450 King Ranch on order. This one is a 2023 for a 2022 that was unfilled by Ford. It was ordered from Chapman in PA at 4% Below FINAL INVOICE. Chapman is honoring the original 4% below final invoice and Ford gave me a $5,000 cash certificate to apply at delivery to compensate for not building the 2022 as originally ordered.

You definitely made out. Unfortunately, I started my search around the same time in 2022, but had a hard time finding a dealer that would accept X-Plan pricing. I wanted to put cash in the bank so I could sell my trade outright and use that cash for our future 2022 351MS. I decided to wait for the 2023 until I realized my build MSRP of $92,000 went to $96,000 a few months later and then $100,100 for a 2023 with no X-Plan available on a 2023. Now everything is $5,000 to $10,000 over MSRP even for a used, low mileage 2022. Absolutely, ridiculous! I refuse to pay a Ford dealer these prices and will wait for the 2024 Denali HD's in the next few months. By comparison, 2023 Denali HD's can be had right now for $8,000 off MSRP which I expect to be the same on a 2024 this fall. I will let Ford bury themselves unless the 2022's drop to $85,000 in the meantime.

    Gijake,

Congrats on the trailer. This is absolutely the best RV forum for input.
I pull a 38' Forest River Cardinal, pulled by a RAM DRW 3500.
Trailer has no washer/dryer, but does have the Onan 5500 generator.

My actual scale weights are as follows:

Steer 5,650 lbs (empty 5,500) Frt axle GVWR 6,000
Drive 7,650 lbs (empty 4,150) Rear axle GVWR 9,750
    Truck total 13,300 (empty 9650)
    Payload 3,650
    Trailer axles 11,800
Trailer total (axles and payload) 15,450
That puts my payload at 23%

Long story but the 22-25% would be a solid estimate.

Jerry, Do you ever have the problem of coming out of a store and wondering what truck I am driving today? Sounds like a good problem to have and you have worked the system well.
