    What we opted out of was a generator. We don't boondock, so the solar and extra batteries are to run the residential refrigerator (120VAC - not one of the new 12VDC units) on travel days and in case of a power outage wherever we're staying. 200 AHs of LiFePO4 gave us 24+ hours of sustainability (depending on the sun) and ugrading to 400 AHs extends that to 48+ hours (again, depending on the sun). Everyone's mileage is going to vary...
