    @Sascarpa -

    The published pin weights are empty/dry - of no help and little relationship to loaded pin weights.

    Here are some forum tips for you:

    1) If you use "Reply With Quote" (to the right of "Reply") as I have here, folks will know to whom you are responding and that person will get a notification.

    2) You can also tag folks using the "@" symbol and their user name (as I have done yours) - they'll also get a notification that way.

    That seems unlikely. A 21,000 lb. 5th wheel would put over 4,000 lbs. in the bed of the truck.

    My truck is 8389, payloads 3711 gvwr of 12,100. The camper hitch 3052, UVW 14866, GVWR 16800. Actually says the truck can tow a gooseneck of 21,200.
    It's a 6.6l diesel. Plus if this helps I put the airlift bags on the rear suspension with 7,500 lb of lift

    I had said that the truck can tow up to 21,200 lb I didn't say that's what the camper is. The camper is max weight is 16800.

    FWIW, rear air bags add nothing to carrying capacity, they help with leveling the truck and help smooth out the ride.

    I’ve found that the towing capability is meaningless with 5th wheels. The truck’s limit is always payload. That 3,052 lbs on the Grand Design website is bare bones unloaded pin weight. Our 380FL left the factory at 3,350 lbs pin weight, unloaded. Add a 300 lb slider hitch (short bed), 300+ lbs of people and 100+ lbs of tools and other gear and we are at 4,050 lbs on the truck and that is still before putting anything in the RV. A full fresh water tank and water heater will add about 400 lbs on the truck. I wouldn’t consider pulling a 380FL without a 1 Ton dually. It’s a BIG trailer back there.

    Air bags will not change your payload number. Do you plan on an installed generator, washer/dryer? Everything you put in the truck will add to payload-driver, passenger(s), hitch about 200#, dog(s), firewood, chairs, bbq...anything.
    As Rob said, you probably will be over.
    I tow a "small" Solitude with a dually & wouldn't want to with a srw. Will your truck tow it, sure, will you be overweight, probably.

    Well heck, everybody answered you will I was typing this...I'm a slow typer.

    Well it does have the generator installed already and the washer and dryer as well but the washer and dryer in the back of the camper generators up front obviously. Yeah I won't be able tow with a lot of stuff that's all.
