So now that you have been made aware that the trailer you are looking to buy won’t work with your current truck what will you do?

Rule of thumb for pin weight based on gvwr is 21 to 23%. If you load the trailer to the max which is easy to do. Your truck would be close enough to warrant getting everything weighed to be on the safe side.

I agree that's a good choice. I tow a S-Class 2930 (which we absolutely love) with my SRW RAM 3500 and it does great. That said, we're within 200 lbs of our truck GVWR and I would not want anything bigger. We go cross country and having a combination that tows well just makes the trip that much more enjoyable.

Yes, your truck will tow 21,200. They do towing capacity using a 15% pin weight. So 21,200 X 15% = 3180 pin weight pin weight. Problem is the pin weight of most 5er run around 23% so the 21,200 pin weight would be 4876 way over the payload.

So 23% of of 16,800 has a pin weight of 3864 and still have to add in hitch, passengers, and stuff in the truck plus the weight of options you have installed.

23 % should be a figure when you are loaded ready to go, including whatever you put in the truck. At a rally we got weighed where they weigh everything with a scale inder each wheel so you get a true picture of what's going on truck, trailer and truck and trailer. We weighed in at 21 or 22%. We were fully loaded at the time.

You should go to a Cat scale and get it weigh when fully loaded. With all the gear in the front basement AND the front living room setup you could be very close to at or over pin weight.

I have a 2020 3500 Denali Duramax, I have a curt in the factory pucks and have no issues! I have had to raise my high to the top setting the only issue I had was depending on the terrain my tonneau cover was the issue.

You issue will be as others have stated payload, I have a reflection 311bhs and it pushes my payload.

I also have 7500 airbags to level out my truck.

The 2020+ are 6’10” beds. I have a reflection 311 bhs and tow with a 2022 AT4 3500. Plenty of turning and bed rail clearance.
