Replace 14" wheels with 15" wheels on Imagine XLS

Potential Imagine XLS 22MLE buyer here. I searched the forum but couldn't find the answer (probably my search criteria). Anyway, has anyone replaced the 14" wheels on an Imagine XLS with 15" wheels? If so, did the steps have to be altered as well due to ground clearance? TIA.

Your TT comes with 205/75/14D tires. If you jump to the same size in a 15" you gain 1" in dia. That would only increase you TT height by 1/2"
You would only gain 110 lbs of extra carrying capacity.
Not sure why the need to upsize.
If you jump all the way to a 225/75/15D you gain 790 lbs per tire of CCC and you total TT height would increase 5/8"

So no you shouldn't need new stairs.

IF it did cause a problem with your stairs, you could do something like I did to mine.
Not because I changed tire size, but because the stairs were extended to the max many times and didn't have enough support from the inner channel.
These are pressure treated wood bolted in place.

It looks like this is your first post. Welcome to the group and possibly the 22mle gang. We really love ours.
As other have mentioned, it wont do much of a difference for the ground clearance of the steps. Not sure why you would want to change to 15" but one thing that you would need to keep an eye on is the clearance between the top of the tire and the TT. I think you would be fine but you'll need to take into account the wheel movement from road bump.

IMO, it would not be a modification worth the expense. In addition, I wouldn't want any less clearance between the top of the tire and the underside of the trailer.

You can buy a Keystone Cougar 22MLS and get 15" E rated tires as standard.

OP here... So it sounds like I wouldn't be gaining much by going to 15" wheels. That answers my question. Thanks for the input! Still trying to decide between a regular Imagine and the Imagine XLS.

How tall are you and your guests?
The interior height is a big difference and the outside storage with the drop frame on the imagine is a game changer imo
