    Convenience Panel Battery levels

I was not able to find this in a search but I have a question on the battery levels shown on the convenience panel. With 4 lights lit the panel shows 12.3 and I assume that is volts. 3 lights is 11.7 and 2 lights 11.2 and 1 is Low. From what I have read a fuly charged battery should be in the mid to upper 12 volt range. Any reason why they show these levels? Trying to figure out if my batteries are fully charged when 4 lights show on the panel. I have taken meter readings and they show upper 12 to low 13 volt range.

Honestly, don't trust that panel. It is best to get an actual volt meter. Or even a cheap BMS. The "meter" on the panel is a meter, but such a low quality feedback as to be worthless.

Determining lead-acid battery state of charge from a voltage reading requires the battery to be resting. That means no charging or discharging for at least an hour prior to the measurement. That makes the panel almost totally useless.

Most conventional lead acid batteries are fully charged at 12.65V, some at 12.72V. AGMs run 12.8 to 13.2V.
