    Generator Carrier

I did a search and came up empty. Has anyone fabricated a Generator carrier that attaches to the rear ladder? I have a small inverter genny that weighs 49 pounds. I'm looking at carrying it on the rear of the trailer and it appears the ladder is my only option. If the ladder can hold 250 pounds, it would appear that the 50 pound weight of the genny spread over a couple rungs, would be plausable. Has anyone done this? Any alternative options? Thanks in advance, GH

The ladder would likely hold 250 static pounds. The forces at the rear of the trailer with all the bouncing and jouncing around would likely compound that 50 lbs. several times easily. I wouldn't do it.

I agree with above. Don’t do it
If it is just a small genny put it in a storage compartment or put it over the propane tanks

Nothing belongs on the back of a trailer other than a tote tank imo

I forget who makes it, but there is a generator storage rack that attaches to the A frame portion of the TT above the propane tanks, probably better than the ladder idea.

Good point. I don't have any desire to lose my new Generator... I'll find another option. Thanks for the reply.

I believe it's Stromburg Carlson. I will look closer at that option. Thanks.

Just a quick additional note, the manufacturer states you will have to switch to a soft vinyl type cover for your propane tanks as a hard cover will no longer be able to be lifted up and off. Or, as I am considering, I think you could use pins instead of bolts to hold the arms to the frame and then lift the shelf off to pull the hard cover off.

Another option is to get a hitch welded to the back of the RV frame. From there, you can get a cargo carrier or have one made and use a geny box like this. Got this idea from another member who had 2 of these.
