Toe kick at kitchen slide on 320mks

My wife and I purchased a 2023 320mks and she is constantly kicking the high slide when using the stove. She bought a 2” high padded mat to stand on but it’s still not high enough. Why didn’t Grand Design just build the cabinets to the front edge of the slide instead of them being pushed back 4 inches? This makes it a long reach to use the stove or countertop. Anyone else dealing with this or have any solutions?

I'm on the short side and have no issues with the distance. But I don't cook inside often. You could build a wood deck to set down in front of the stove.

We honestly don't notice, but we also have a long history with non-floor-flush slides. A thought is that any good furniture upholstery shop could pad the toe to at least reduce the stubbing.

If they built the cabinets all the way to the end of the slide, then it would crush the cabinets in the island when the slide was in. We've learned to use that 2.75 inches as a toe rest while cooking.

This was also a little pet peeve of mine at first but like others, I hardly noticed it anymore.
