Graphics are chipped on our Brand New 23LDE
Finally have had a chance for a closer inspection of the exterior of our new TT and found many many small chips in the graphics just above the rock guard in front.
We live in SW Washington we know these are hauled out here from Indiana that's long trip. The cost of that trip which was over 6K one would think for that price the unit would have better transit protection.
Just asking if anyone else has had experience with this in the last couple model years.

Did you not see them at delivery?
What do you mean you paid 6000 for transit?
How would it get protected?2021 Imagine 2400 BH

I know I have seen shrink wrap on boats and certain vehicles during transport.... May be could/should be used on RVs as well?
One would think its certainly cheaper than repainting and/or removal/replacing decals due to foriegn object damage during transport.Jim and Annette

@Crewdog135, it's not a GD thing but common throughout the RV industry. Some of the contracted transporters, well the rigs that pull them are lucky to have fenders let alone mudflaps or stone guards! All you can do is talk to the dealer since they are responsible for arranging transport of their campers from GD to see if they'll do anything for you. If you lucked out with a good dealer, they might help with touchup and replacing decals. If not, and as frustrating as it is, find some solace in that you will generate road rash along the journeys for your new adventures!
You can buy touch up paint from GD as well as any decal. If such is beyond your DIY skills, seek at premium car dealerships and see if they'll give you information for their trade-in/used car reconditioner. Those guys are superiorly skilled in comparison to any RV dealer or automobile body shop in doing near imperceiveable touch ups!Rob & Nikki + Cloverfield

Yup, just like those mobile Dr Vinyl, Dr Dent, Wheel refinisher guys. Most do it all week long at different dealerships.
Have used them all at multiple times, and couldnt tell there was ever any damage once they finished. Amazing what they can fix in an hour or so in a parking lot!
As for the dealers selling transported vehicles with cosemetic issues..... those chips, scratches and marks should have been done by the dealer during prep - which they dont mind adding on to the total selling cost of the RV!Last edited by trailrydr; 02-21-2023 at 01:39 PM.

Actually the transport drivers get the trailer that is going in the direction and distance they are willing to haul. They don't get paid anywhere near 6K. If your dealer doesn't help you out, contact GD customer service and make sure you have photos you can send to them via email. Decals have a 5 yr warranty (at least on my 2020), and I believe the paint may be covered. If your dings and nicks are repaired, remember the rest are on you after that. Unless you drive perfectly clean roads, never go into a campground with dirt or gravel roads, you will have nicks and dings. Normal for pulling a trailer.
Mudguards will help as will those stone guards you can put on your tow vehicle, but none of that is perfect and you WILL get things bouncing off you trailer. Just a fact of trailer life.2020 F-250 XLT SuperCrew 7.3L Blue Ox SwayPro, 2020 Imagine 2600RB,
