Request suggestions for easy coil fresh water hose.

I have the Camco TastePURE Drinking Water Hose for RV. We tend to travel in cooler weather and when breaking down to leave a campsite it's usually cold. Not freezing but in the 30s to low 40s. This make our current hose stiff and difficult to coil. Is there a hose on the market that will coil more easily in cold weather, not make the water taste like rubber or have the garden hose taste?

If my hose is too stiff to coil, I will do my best and put it in the truck bed. Most of the easy coil or super compact type hoses don't have the best longevity, at least that's my experience, or they just aren't rated for potable water.

Edit: I also use a Flexzilla. I do have a Camco heated hose I use during below freezing camping, or I fill the FW tank and disconnect the hose.

Best RV hose I've ever used. The swivel heads are a game changer if you travel often (we full time).

You will get a long list saying go with an expandable hose. I personally cannot stand them. I'll steer you to a Flexzilla, which are certified drinking water safe. These are layered hoses, very flexible, and the inner liner is what's certified for drinking water as well as the fittings. The outer layer is very durable and flexible, but it will stain and become unsightly. It does not migrate to the inner layer. I have actually had one outside at our sticks and bricks, year-round, for 3 years. It did stain but yearly water quality testing out of it is good so I have no concerns and the ease of rollup in all weather is hard to beat.

We have two EVoFlex from Wally World: a 25' and a 50'. They are super flexible, even in cold weather, have swivel heads, and coil up super small. Love 'em.

Yeah, the white hose TastePure Camco hose is stiff in cool - cold weather. My hose sun burned in about 6 months of near daily use out here in the southwest area.

I bought the EvoFlex Camco hose, blue in colour. Much more flexable in cooler temps. THe hose ends are better too. After near 8 months the hose is not sun burned yet.

I have 1 Camco TastePure white hose as backup in the RV and use the blue EvoFlex as regular hose.

Many ppl complain of leaks with Camco hoses. I;ve had no leaks that a new rubber washer did not fix

I tried a EvoFlex - it seemed to be the less flexible hose I ever tried. I'm current using the Flexzilla; while not exactly kink-free, it coils OK. But I think I will migrate back to a quality white hose in the future as these others hoses don't hold that many advantages.

Maybe get a heated hose. Do those stay more flexible in cold weather?

What's the old saying?... you get three lawers together and you'll four opinions. The EvoFlex has done well for us in above-freezing temps and has not been difficult to handle. For winter use (this year single digits a number of times), we use one of these:

    https://nofreezewaterhose.com/produc...ng-water-hoses

It's not very flexible, but it's rated to -40F (which happens to coincide with -40C) and is commonly used in the man camps in the oil fields and pipline construction sites in the far north:
