GD Momentum line tour

My wife and I toured the GD Momentum production facility in Middlebury on Tuesday. I toured the facility a few years ago when we ordered our current rig (a 351) and before they had their own line. I'm no expert, but I thought the new set up was pretty impressive. Simple things like the lighting, pre-assembly staging areas, etc were much improved from just a few years ago. It was also very cool to get a good look at black/grey/fresh tanks, HVAC runs, etc while they were exposed and accessible. While we were there the tour guide, Brian?, looked up our new order (a 397) and provided some great information. He confirmed it came off of the production line last week and is currently at the paint facility. He also let us know that it would have (as ordered) the standard 12g water heater and the standard 120v residential fridge. The on demand water heater and 12v fridge may be great, but I was glad to hear our unit would come as requested. That being said, as I looked around and opened up panels, most of the smaller Momentum units were being built with the on demand water heater. I don't know when they will switch over the larger models. AP

I would consider it lucky you got the water heater and residential fridge. So far we aren't sold that the hot water on demand is a better option. The residential fridge, they should not have stopped that as an option.
