    Side markers with turn indicator

    Hey all

2022 2500RL and was wondering what is the effort to get the side markers to activate with the turn signals...

Can't seem to wrap my mind around what is needed

    Appreciate any thoughts

Not as easy as you would hope. Requires rewiring, relays, and is sometimes truck model specific.

You can start with something like this

Yes, we have a 2500RL, got it a year ago, seems odd they don't make them blinkers... I was asking since I was installing the BT7 side cameras and it would have been nice to wire in the trigger for the blinker, oh well

    Thanks, Rick

Rick, when I put Haloview side cameras on. These replace the side marker light with light/camera combo. So if you blink the light (toggle the power), it would cycle the camera. One option we have is to wire the Haloview screen to "trigger" the camera view to include blinker. So when you turn on right blinker, it would turn on the right side trailer camera so you can view the right side. This would also not be possible if the camera power wire cycles with blinker. If your side cameras do NOT get power from marker light, then get into the 7-pin junction box (under trailer basement, passenger side) and tap the blinker wires there.

The original marker lights don't blink with the turn indicator, therefore, I concluded the new BT7 side cameras won't activate with the turn indicator

Yes the BT7 side cameras come with a green trigger wire but I didn't connect it b/c the original markers don't blink

    Am I missing something?

    Sorry for confusion.

    1. Marker lights, by design, don't blink.
    2. If you use the green wire to trigger camera, it will display the camera view when you hit blinker.

The issue revolves around the quest to have marker light blink with turn signal. Lets say you wire the trailer so the blinker wire (on trailer 7-pin) is connected to marker light. That is the seemingly sensible way to get the marker to blink. Once it blinks, the camera at that light will toggle at the rate the light blinks. You would not be able to use that camera on the display since its flashing. If you no longer want to blink the marker lights, then ignore my comments.

    Make sense ?
