AC unit clunking when turning off, then won't restart for a few minutes

Our AC unit just started in the last day clunking when turning off, if I got to the dial and lower it 4 more degrees, it blinks and then clicks, but won't come back on until I leave it alone for a few minutes. It's not dripping inside the coach and not frozen from what I can tell, this is the same one that was freezing up when we bought the rig.

Has anyone heard of this issue and a way to check/fix it. I'm praying we don't need a new AC unit, I'll sell this rig if I do.

I don't follow what you mean by "got to the dial and lower it 4 more degrees". What dial? The thermostats are digital....

Also, main air or bedroom air unit?
