Furrion 12v Fridge Out-of-the-box thinking for cold weather
We just purchased a 2023 Imagine 2670MK which included a Furrion 12V fridge. We discovered that after turning the fridge on and leaving for a few days when we returned the fridge was not cooling. After reading the manual, we saw that the fridge will turn off if ambient temperature gets below 50 degrees Fahrenheit. Our normal protocol is to be at a destination rv park for 9 months out of the year, but primarily we are there on the weekends. In between trailer is connected to shore power and we leave the fridge running with food. Short of running the heater all of the time (separate issue is that heater lowest temperature is 60 degrees), I am trying to see if anyone has a workaround to keep fridge running without running the heater when we are gone. We are in Northern California, so only about two months out of the year will this be an issue, but just trying to get ahead of this. Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks, Jonny

It's right in the manual. The fridge is still on with no cooling.

Manual doesn’t say it will turn off below 50 or that you need it set to max. It says the control may need to be turned toward max.
Ambient is the indoor temperature in the camper, not outdoor.John & Kathy

Yes.
I’d bet the source of the problem is that the temperature sensor gets cold after a really short cooling run at low ambient temperature so the refrigerator doesn’t run long enough to really cool everything inside. If the thermostat was mounted on a chunk of metal or immersed in a jar of water it would work better.John & Kathy
