    Hi Rod,

The only thing that is likely making the plug hard to get in or out is friction between a dry plug and a dry socket.
    Dielectric grease should fix this.

Okay, back to my original topic. I did find replacement collars on Furrion's website but I can't imagine how you would replace them? I guess I'll have to call Furrion.

I don't even use the threaded collar. Just push and turn plug in the socket. Never had any problems with coming loose.

    Hi Poppy,

The collar goes on after the cord is molded. You tuck one part of the softer flange of the cord through the collar and then work around . . . sort of a spiral installation. Warm temperature and a little dish washing soap will help.
(This is marine shore power cord knowledge . . . but I am sure the RV collar & cord will be similar.)

...or, Paul, if Rob's suggestion does not work, when he and Cate are out boating, you may want to do a switcheroo with his cord !

This has been an interesting discussion ! In thinking back to what I actually do (on either the boat or the RV) I am much closer to what Poetater does . . . I make sure that I feel the twist lock engage and I give the plug a tug to ensure that it is locked into place . . . if I even do up the collar (always loosely) it is an afterthought or because we will be leaving the boat/RV unattended.

I have another suggestion, but it will probably get me banned. LOL

    Let me guess . . .
If a crop of lock rings grow wild in an RV park . . . and no one is using them . . .

No no no. Nothing like that. Something to help get the ring on. Come after "j" and before "z".
