Just received the two Coleman Soft Starts on Sat and will install those this week....hopefully. Looks like a well thought-out install from what I read in the instructions. More to come.

Did you order them from Coleman? I inquired late last year and they were not in stock.

Hi! We recently ordered three from RVUpgrades.com. Had them within a week to 10 days.

I ordered them from RV Parts Country. They were the cheapest and quickest shipping. I think I had them in like 3 days....

Ok---just installed them this morning. The installs on both were super easy. I like the way the bracket mounts to the unit with screws rather than just 3m adhesive tape. The install was pretty straightforward and I also learned that some models must come with a start capacitor, fan capacitor, and run capacitor. Mine had two of the three---no start capacitor. I guess if you already have the start capacitor---this soft start may not be needed.

I installed them both but have not powered on the units yet since it's still pretty cold here in CO. Here are some pics from my install to include the pic from the manual showing the three capacitors to help others.

One of the items on my list was to install soft start kits on the two Coleman-Mach air conditioners. One is a 48000 series and the other is a 45000 series. The service advisor said they opened up both AC units and both already had soft start kits installed (I bought the fifth wheel new). Does anyone know if GD is including soft start with their fifth wheels? I cannot find any mention of soft start in the documentation and to me, it would be an additional selling feature.

I will go out in the next few days to verify with my eyes because I tried to run one AC last year using the 30A service in the storage facility and I blew a circuit breaker in the trailer leading me to believe I needed to get soft start . . .

    Thanks!

You may want check if you have other issues if you can not run one a/c on a 30a service. A 30A service should be able to handle the a/c with no problems.
