On our first longer trip going East Coast to West Coast and back Winter 2023

My husband retired January 27 and we started a 55 day long trip February 6th. We left Bumpass VA and headed South & West through NC, SC, GA, MS, Louisiana to Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California. Now we are heading back through Nevada to Utah currently.

We are always on the look out for other fifth wheels and especially Grand Design Solitudes while on the road. We passed through Arizona and saw loads of them leaving the Grand Design rally.

After being on the road a little over 3 weeks we realize this lifestyle is one we are loving.

Congrats on retirement and beginning your new journey in-life! It's a pretty liberating feeling to go somewhere and not be on a time crunch to get there and get back. It entirely changes the experience in ways I never could have imagined. Glad you're enjoying yourselves!

Congratulations on retirement! Cherish this time exploring! You will have some amazing adventures! Wife and I retired in 2020 and hit the road, we have experienced some wonderful places and great RVers! Slower pace, go where we want to go, not stressing over every little thing, just truly liberating!

Utah is truly a beautiful state, we did Bryce, Zion, Capitol Reef, Arches, Dead Horse Point State Park. We also stayed in Moab and a cruise on the Colorado River was really great! From Moab we took the drive down to Monument Valley. While near Bryce Canyon we drove down to the Grand Canyon North Rim, sure glad we did! We stayed at the North Rim Lodge over night. That was last year. This year starting from South Central Texas, we are headed to Big Bend National Park in Texas up and into New Mexico and Arizona to the Grand Canyon South Rim. Then head back east and pick up Oklahoma, and lay over in Branson MO before running up to see our kids/grandkids in IN and OH.

Wow, we have a lot of parks in common! We have visited 9 so far on this trip and Big Bend was one of our new favorites. What a lovely retirement you are enjoying!
