    Dometic Refrigerator drain question

Hey folks, I've got a 2017 2600RB with a dometic refrigerator. I had a tea pitcher leak out into the bottom of the fridge, and noticed liquid had ran down the outside wall from the vent tube. I cannot confirm if it was tea that came out of the vent so I am curious to know if anyone can advise on the drain system (if there is one) for the fridge and furthermore if I need to pull it out to clean everything properly?

There is a drain system of course

You should see a tray under your fins that collet water and take it to a tray in your fridge access area or do as I do and stick the end of the hose thru the access cover so it drips to the ground

If the tea only leaked on the inside you should be able to remove the contents and clean it up. You could look thru the outside access to possibly see if any leaked out. It would have to be a huge amount of tea to get me to remove the fridge. A small fan blowing into the back may dry it up but if you're on propane it may blow the flame out.

Was the pitcher secured on the upper door racks when it spilled? That would be about the only way to get the tea into the cooling fin drip tray which would then show up in the drip tube.

As for pulling out the fridge, like others said, wouldn't do it. Would just dry it out and/or clean what you can with it in.

As for cleaning the drip line, poor some bleach/water mix in the drip tray (while hooked up to the tube and running out the vent cover) to clean up any old "stuff" in the drip line while the trailer is parked and level.

The tea pitcher was not on the door rack. It was on the shelf and leaked into the bottom of the fridge and subsequently into the groove on the door seal. So, when I opened the door, some of it ran down the front onto the wood frame , which I'm sure is not water-tight. So, I assume some got behind the paneling. One of my main concerns is what sugar attracts, so just trying to determine the best course of action to get it clean and insect-free.

Hmmm.... must be some old residual stuff over time in your drain tube which a water/bleach solution should fix.

As for the bottom of the fridge, did you notice any tea color staining that looks like it ran back under the fridge and cabinet? If so, then it might be worth cleaning it as well if you think there was a sufficient amount of liquid that got under there. As you, I too would be concerned with possible future ant or rodent issues from not cleaning it.

Fridge removal isn't difficult, just bulky and it would help to have a place to prop it in front of the cabinet opening at a similiar height so as to make it easier for removal/install later.
