    Any idea on place to level your Rig?

    Hello Everyone,
    Does anyone have a good location on where I should stick my level to recalibrate my level one. Everywhere inside my 380FL fifth wheel I get a different reading and yes I am using a good expensive digital Level. When I put it on the floor its different then what the countertop says, front part of the floor is different then what the middle of the floor says. Just kinda stumped on where a good true location I should use. Hope this all makes sense and Im hoping someone has some insight. Thx

    Since you've not likely got an absorption refrigerator, you can level it where ever you feel the most comfortable. Pick a spot, see how it feels. Personally I'd level at the stove or the counter, those are where you, or someone else, will likely be working with liquids that need to be level. How far out of level is it point to point?

    Hello,
    So my level says Im .4 off (nose down). I know it off cause when I have the Rear AC on and the winds blowing towards the nose of the trailer yet the water from the AC is dripping in the front and non in the rear, hopefully you get my description.

    How does a pan of water sit in the kitchen area? Does the trailer feel comfortable? Does water run down the drains? If you lie down on the bed, are you comfortable? How you feel in the trailer is more important than a couple of degrees difference in where you measure.

    Whatever you most want to be level.

    I worked like crazy on mine. I used a magnetic angle indicator stuck to the pin box and to the frame. I shimmed under tires with pieces of plywood to get it to read just perfect….but the bedroom door still wanted to close on its own. Finally found a setup we like where the nose measures a hair low and the road side measures a hair high. But it feels level.

    Hi Lukskywalker. I assume you'd have to be a Star Wars fan with that handle. I still remember seeing the first movie back in 1977. At the time, it was somewhat groundbreaking. We just got a complimentary subscription to Disney+ with our Verizon package. All the Star Wars movies are on there so I just watched the first three movies (#4,5,and 6) over again. After all of the progress in movie making and animation (and acting) in the last 46 years, they are sort of hokey now, but still enjoyable. I still can't believe what poor shots the stormtroopers have and how worthless their armor is.

    We also have a 380FL. We've had it for a little over a year. I've not had to recalibrate the Levelup system yet. I have checked it with my digital level and it's probably as good as could be expected. I've used the kitchen countertop as ground zero. That's the most likely place to spill liquid and it would be nice if it doesn't run to one side too quickly. I've checked other places in the RV against that and, while not perfect, it's as good as our sticks and bricks. It would be pretty tough to have something as hand assembled as these RVs to be consistent throughout the coach.

    I don't know how precise the Levelup system is from one time to the next. If a door is drifting, I just do a "manual" tweak on the Levelup panel to fix it.

    @lukskywalker

    I Merged 2 threads into this one and also deleted one, Please post only one thread per subject. Cross posting in several areas make it difficult to follow and search plus it is against the forum rules.

    Hope you get your level issue solved, don't fret over a minute amout of being off unless it affects daily living.

    Same as everyone else said. Don't let perfect be the enemy of great. Get close enough and then enjoy.

    I thought I had our trailer pretty good. Doors stayed in placed no matter where you put them. Except one. Marcy complained that the microwave door wouldn't stay open long enough for her to pick something up with two hands and put it in. It got fixed.

    All level readings are from the trailer floor. You cannot use countertops, sidewall plumbness or anything in or about a slide room. Even on the floor, you will get variation because the frame is cambered and also imperfectly welded. You use best averaging of to get the deck as level as possible and then zero your autoleveling. After that, you must fight to become one with the imperfections because there's nothing plumb, level, square or true in RV construction!
