When i replaced mine, I wasn't sure either, so I hooked the camper to the truck, had all slides in and jacks up to be safe.

Well, having all the jacks up and the slides in doesn't necessarily mean there's no pressure in the lines. Usually the jacks are pressurized to stay up, or down, and the slides pressurized to stay in, or out. Usually a solenoid valve in line to maintain pressure whichever way they are. That's my understanding anyway, but I've been wrong before.

I had the same logic, but at least with everything retracted, and you disconnect a pressure line, there is no worry that the trailer will start lowering itself or anything like that. Worked out for me anyhow.

Very true. I had my jack up when I changed mine out, just in case.

I am never wrong, once I thought I was wrong, but I was mistaken.

That usually results in an emphatic eye roll from whomever is near when I say it.

I installed a 45deg fitting on one of the blocks in the front compartment where a hydraulic line was partially blocking a hole for some wiring. I ran the slides out only part-way so there *shouldn’t* be pressure holding closed or open. It worked…didn’t lose much oil.
