That's a lot, on our last TT we had a 6-gallon water heater and we rarely ran out.

    HTH.
That's not really the whole story. Unless your running the shower at full hot and no cold water is mixing in at the valve your not drawing the full amount from the WH. That would be really hot! Also once the water temp in the WH starts to drop the heater(s) will fire, at least partially offsetting the cool water coming in. If your running both gas and the electric element it will probably keep up at least for awhile.

We have a 12 gallon heater, with both elements running I don't think we have ever run out even with back to back showers. Though I don't think we take very long showers in the RV. Never really timed it out.

You should have gotten an owner's manual in your packet, that should show you how to adjust the temp. You don't want it too hot or you run the risk of scalding.

How hot is the water when it starts coming in hot? Is it possible that the outside shower faucet is turned on? That can cause the cold and hot water to mix, lowering the temperature of the incoming water to your shower/faucet.

Good call @Hoopy Frood, mixing at the outside water faucet would create exactly the symptoms the OP is reporting.

The outside shower head is a good thought, make sure the knobs are turned off, not just the cutoff at the head.

Also, are you taking Navy showers or are you turning on the water full speed and letting it run the whole time you are in the shower? We take Navy showers and even when we had a 6 gallon gas only water heater we never ran out of hot water.

Is one way to tell if the outside faucet has both hot and cold open be that you get hot/warm water at the cold water side of another inside faucet? I suppose it would be easier to just check the outside faucet, but I was just wondering.

My first guess was that Anna was just letting the water run the whole time she was in the shower rather than the 'ol Navy wet/soap up/rinse turning the water off between each step.

My DIL runs it full blast the whole time she is in there! Then she wonders why others complain about no hot water! grrrrr.....

Tech says you can’t adjust temp. Manual doesn’t say anything about adjusting temperature
