Rejected by local Grand design dealer

We purchased a never used new "used" Imagine 23lde and want to get a purchase orientation. I also wanted to make sure my weight distribution hitch is carrying the trailer correctly. I called my nearest Grand Design dealer to request help on this and was told "we don't do that". I guess I'll need to call Grand Design and ask where to go or just start calling other dealers or something. I thought Grand Design was so great with this type of thing??

Dealers don’t have time for that especially if you didn’t buy from them

What hitch are you using and did you install it?

There are some very high torque ratings on some of those bolts Do you have the tools?

You should contact Grand Design anyway to tell them you now own the trailer in case there are any recalls they can get in touch with you and transfer any of the remaining 1 year warranty

It would be a reach to expect even a new car dealer to give you a "new owner orientation" for a used car you bought somewhere else. Being disappointed in Grand Design is like being disappointed in Ford or Chevy for the same reasons.

To compound issues, you may find it hard to get actual service work done at a dealer. Some flatly refuse if you didn't buy from them. Some give priority to "bought from them" owners, and make your work the last thing they get to. No RV dealer, of any brand, is required by the brand to work on their models no matter where purchased. Dealers with an "open door" do exist, but they are harder to find than one might expect.

As far as orientation and operation - almost all RV's are generally the same, there is little that is unique from one brand to another. Quality of assembly, and design - yes, but actual components and use, no. There are many "Mobile Techs" that will travel to you for on site service of your RV. They may be more than willing to give a mini-class on care and feeding, and help with specific questions you may have. Ditto for certified "RV Inspectors" - they primarily are engaged to do a very in depth evaluation of a unit before purchase, but would also be highly qualified to teach you about yours.

Yes I purchased privately from owner who never used it once. It's "new" and has yet to go on it's maiden voyage. I did get the warranty transfered by Grand Design succesfully.
