Drove a black/black standard bed LTZ in Scottsdale....nice truck, not exactly what I wanted but would work. Dealer had several Chevy/GMC 3500's on the lot, but when it came time to deal they wouldn't budge off their $2000 discount, plus forcing the "protection package" and high doc fee, and low-balling my F150 trade. So I walked on that one. OK, I'm known as frugal!
Tried again on Monday. Dealer in Casa Grande had several LT's and one LTZ, all with $3000 discounts right off the bat. Plus, the LTZ is a long bed, which I prefer for pulling the Solitude. I had to walk out three times, but finally the sales manager came out and stopped me from leaving....ended up making the trade at sometjhing like $6500-7000 under MSRP. I think GM has parts and is cranking out a lot of 2023 HD trucks before they start the 2024's. Add in current high interest rates and ready buyers have some leverage.
GM also was offering 2.9% financing for 36 months. 3.9% for 48 or 60 months.
Will not be pulling the fifth wheel for several weeks, but did make the 440 mi Tucson - Carlsbad run yesterday. Computer is showing an average of 16.8 mpg. Biggest trouble I have is figuring out which switch does what! After years of driving Fords, GM's layout is just different enough to confuse me. Didn't think I was going to be a fan of the newer safety alert stuff, but found I was using the blind spot alerts in the mirrors right away. Really like the smooth shifting 10 speed. And the ride is much better than I expected for an unloaded 3500.
Now have to get a hitch and bed cover......
Not true, the 2024 HD's are in full production with a few in the Country already on the lot. Order banks opened January 12th so that is 2-1/2 months order to delivery. My belief is GM is ramping up to get them on the lot before the 2023 Super Duty's that Ford is having issues with, especially, Job 2 orders. My 2024 Denali Duramax 3500 DRW order was place March 7th and current status is "accepted by GM".

Yep 24's at the Flint plant have been in production since the beginning of March. The Oshawa plant has also started with 24's recently. I believe Flint does both GMC and Chevy, I think Oshawa Chevy only.

My order was placed by the Dealer on the 3-10. It has a target production week of 5-8.

I guess I wasn't clear; what I meant was that dealers will not want to have a lot full of expensive 2023 models when 2024's will be shipping shortly (if not already).
So if you don't care about the model year changes there is incentive for the dealers to deal on the '23 models.

FWIW: Just looked at both the GMC and Chevrolet "search" websites and neither will allow a search for 2024 HD trucks.

All but one of the Chevy trucks I looked at (maybe 12) were standard beds and built in Ontario; the long bed I traded for was built in Flint during March.

If you do a build and price at the end you can "view all inventory" and see 24's. Apparently there are 384 24 HD GMC's in stock or in transit within 500 miles of me.

Follow -up . Had to order the GM adapter for the Furion Vision backup camera . Camera works perfect now with the adapter . https://www.etrailer.com/Accessories...on/FR87PR.html

Now that I've towed a few timesI gotta say I'm very impressed with the power/torque of the Duramax , it pulls up hills like they are flat that my old gasser screamed on .

Just wait til your break in tune ends

    I noticed changes at 2k and 5k.

Drove my boss' 2024 2500 the other day with the updated L5P. For the small bit of extra horsepower and torque it feels a lot more zippy and responsive, quite liked it.
