    Changing Ceiling Speakers

I think one of the ceiling speakers in my 2670MK is blown. In any case, they suck and I want to replace them. Problem is, I am not sure how to get the speaker grills off. They don't seem to twist and I am a bit reluctant to try prying but is prying indeed what I need to do?

When I replaced ours, I believe you just snap them off but honestly can't remember. That said, I thought one was blown. To be honest, I found the speaker had sawdust in it and cleaning it out would have solved the issue. I already had replacement speakers so I replaced anyway. Just food for thought.

As stated, the grills do pop off. But, when we replaced ours we went with better quality 6.5" Dual Electronics 3 way speakers requiring a little bit of a mod to the openning to install. BTW, the upgrade made it all worth while!

The good news is that most replacement speakers will come with their own grills so just be firm. Be sure you're removing the grill only, the frame of the speaker comes out once you remove the screws. If you pull out the frame it most likely will damage the ceiling tile and you'll have a much bigger job.

These are the ones we went with:

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

They are marine speakers, but, we wanted white 3 way 6.5" speakers to go along with the interior colors and could only find these.
