    Adding a Little Trailer

Well, just reaching out to get some good experience info.
contemplating picking up a golf cart, would make sure it is street legal, then adding a small trailer to the back of the fifth wheel to take with us on some trips.
I understand Sate laws and would make sure we are legal with them, just info on trailers etc.
    thanks,

JFF&KRN: Not going to get into the legelez here I’m sure you’ll get an ear full leaning both ways.
I will say don’t buy one of those inexpensive lawnmower trailers. Shop for a heavy duty single axle utility trailer from someone like Big Tex or whoever. Since the trail trailer pivot is located so far back from your 5’ers axles it will take a beating more so than the 5’er.

    thanks,
I have pulled my motorcycle behind my 5th wheel for several years, the biggest problem is you can’t back up (at least I can’t!). If I had to do it over I would get one of these: http://www.cruiserlift.com/. Whichever way you go, as mentioned, get a good quality trailer. I have an Aluma, good quality, all aluminum: https://www.alumaklm.com

The swivel wheel trailers make for easy towing. Used one for several years to carry the motorcycles before we bought a toyhauler. The main downside is the price, and to a lesser degree, the tail swing. Since they are solidly, loosely speaking, attached to the trailer, they add a lot of tail swing. On the plus side backing up is a non-issue.

JMO, but I also think LEO's choose to ignore the swivel wheel trailers more often than regular trailers. We traveled a lot in states that don't allow double towing and never got a second glance. YMMV.

FYI You can jack knife the second trailer going forward.

That would take a really sharp, sustained turn wouldn't it?

When I started hauling the second trailer I went to a large parking lot and made several 360* circles, never had a jackknife.

You would also have to plan ahead and make sure the trailer fits at your campsite, or they have a separate parking area. It would probably make it easier if you put a tow ball on the golf cart so you could use the cart to park the trailer, or at least move it out of the way while parking the 5th wheel.

If we do it, we wouldn't really take it cross country, I think, but will plan for all of the above.
he swivel trailer has been thought of, but not sure if i want to get rid of that much $$$.
The other thought is just a small enough trailer for it. who knows what I will do. just doing some research and checking right now.
