Best Torque Wrench
Anybody got a recommended torque wrench for checking up on the wheels before takeoff?

Pick up a 1/2" drive from Harbor Freight. They also have one that has 4 pre-set torque: https://www.harborfreight.com/12-in-...nch-58628.html. Personally I like the longer 24" wrench, but those have gotten pretty high in price from when I bought mine.

I've been happy with the Husky (Home Depot) brand. They're usually on sale black Friday. I have one in 1/4" , 3/8" , and 1/2", all are great.

The best, I don’t know but I bought an EPAuto on Amazon three years ago it has served me well and has a nice box that stores well under the seat. I don’t think I need a snap on for my limited use.

Coming from the aviation industry, I'm pretty choosy when it comes to torque wrenches. I went with the TEKTON 1/2 Inch Drive Micrometer Torque Wrench (10-150 ft.-lb.) 24335 from Amazon. I used the calibration equipment used to calibrate torque wrenches for aviation use and found the TEKTON to be perfectly calibrated right out of the box. I've been using it on my lug nuts for about 4 years now and it seems to be holding calibration very well. Good wrench - very reasonable price.

I had a HF one, but when HD had theirs on sale, bought it as I needed higher torque setting for the truck. Gave the harbor freight to a friend that lost all his tools in a forest fire a couple of years ago.

Snap-On tools are awesome but pricey for the home user. I came from GM and GM dealerships and have a shop full of them but would not justify the cost for home use although the quality is outstanding!
I have a Kobalt 1/2" drive from Lowes and like it for torquing wheels and such. It's got a long handle which provides plenty of leverage for the lug nuts. It comes in a plastic case for protection and is around $99 typically. The torque range is from 50-250 ft lbs.40+ Year Camping Enthusiast--Living in CO
