Tow truck 18” tires to 20” tires

Has anyone had experience going to 20” tires from 18”? I have a 2018 Denali with 18” tires and now going to a 2023 Denali with 20” tires. I have a 2018 Reflection 329 which is very similar to the 337 models. I’m not sure if I’ll have to lower the pin box to raise the trailer a couple of inches to clear the box rails adequately. Thanks for any info.

In addition to the above... I owned a truck that came OEM with 20" wheels and tires. The selection of available tires was much less than for tires of more normal sizes. This was five years ago and things may have changed, but I wouldn't want them.

I forgot to add the truck is a 3500 with a standard bed and I’m using a Curt Q20 hitch. The new truck is higher as I’ve driven along side a truck with 20” wheels. I hope the new truck sits down enough that I don’t have to do anything. Thanks for your reply.

Thanks, I’ll see how it looks next week after hooking up to the new truck. I hope i don’t have to do any modification to make it work. The 20” tires got overlooked when I set the specs. with the dealer. My mistake, I’m hoping not a big deal.

Sometimes the load index may be less than the 18" version, did you check that out?
Might go either way, IDK specifically...

From my calculations the 2023 20 inch tires will be 3/4 inch higher from the ground

Thanks Grandesigner, I don’t know what make the tires are, the truck has a gvrw of 12,100 so I’m counting on them being adequate. The dealer only had black and white vehicles and had to bring in a silver coloured unit the I preferred.
